Opening Act

My first act of entertainment on this site will be to write a sci fi story so if you don't like sci fi I am sorry. It will not be the only entertaining thing on this site though. This story i thought of myself and i will be telling out over several posts. at the end of each post i will wait for feed back on the story. I would like at least 3 comment before i move on to the next section. After i finish the whole story i will accept ideas for a title. I will accept 4 or 5 of the best and then let the readers vote on the one they want. i might even let the readers decide the direction of the story while i am telling it. after it is all finished i will move on to the next entertaining act. It could be a homemade movie--i don't know you will have to wait and see.

CHAPTER 1

The Rain

I would like to start this story from the beginning. It was a rainy day, although it wasn’t that bad. No wind, no storms, just rain. The strange thing was there were no clouds. Not a one. Dark and grey; white and fluffy; they were all gone. We all knew something was wrong with that, really wrong. You could feel it in your gut. In the next few days, people started noticing more military presence. Not just in one city or a few cities but everywhere, and in full force. They were not doing or saying anything to civilians, but more just getting ready for something. We knew it was big, but how big? Over the next few days, months, and years we were going to find out.
A couple of days went by and the military were still moving in place. The question on everyone’s mind was, “For what?” Nobody was talking. That is, no government official or military personnel were saying anything. Everybody else was saying plenty, some causing panic, and some had said not to worry, but my gut told me better. “The military does not move around like this for no reason,” I thought to myself. “All I can do now is try to prepare for something I know nothing about.”
Truly all I worried about was my family and making sure they were ok: my son Johnathan and 2 daughters Katie and Kaylee. My wife, she is the strong one. Sometimes I lean on her; they were all about to have to lean on me. The unexplained rain had happened about once a week for 2 months at this point and was still not explained. Some of the younger military people seemed to be a little jittery. I hoped that didn’t turn into an itchy trigger finger with no guilt, because I was starting to think they were just there in case we got out of line. Little did I know....
To be continued...
